You will be a good fit for this role if you:
- have a strong, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central,
- have worked with AL and C/AL (in the context of older system versions),
- have practical experience with Business Central upgrades and migrations, not only theoretical knowledge,
- understand On-Premise Multitenant architecture, including its limitations and challenges,
- have worked with complex extensions and dependencies between them,
- have hands-on experience with:
- OAuth (and understand the differences compared to Basic Auth / NTLM),
- SOAP Web Services,
- have experience working with legacy systems that must remain stable during change,
- are able to work independently and take ownership of a technical area,
- understand how technical changes impact end users and business processes,
- communicate fluently in English
A strong plus will be experience with:
- Companial environments and cloud-ready / cloud-compatible solutions,
- migrating or reducing .NET usage in Business Central–based projects,
- AI-assisted development in everyday work,
- working directly with clients or within partner-based ecosystems.
Project description:
We are working on a large, on-premise system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, supporting operational processes in the area of childcare and development.
The solution:
- serves a large user base,
- includes multiple integrations,
- has been developed over many years, which also means working with older Business Central versions.
The pace of change imposed by Microsoft requires continuous care for the system’s condition, gradual modernization, and preparation for future versions and requirements.
This is work on a system that must operate reliably every single day.
What your work will involve
- Working with Business Central On-Premise installations hosted in Azure (multitenant environments, Companial),
- developing and maintaining the system in a multitenant architecture,
- carrying out upgrades and migrations:
- from BC14 (C/AL) to newer BC versions (AL),
- preparing solutions aligned with the cloud direction,
- supporting and executing regular migrations of test and production environments,
- creating and developing reports in AL,
- organizing and modernizing integrations:
- Office / Graph API (e.g. email import, Word template handling),
- SOAP Web Services,
- migrating from Basic Auth / NTLM to OAuth,
- migrating and gradually phasing out legacy .NET solutions,
- adapting the system to frequent Microsoft releases and new security requirements,
- identifying technical risks and proposing practical improvements,
- developing the system with usability in mind, not only technical compliance,
- using AI as real support in day-to-day work.
