This role combines AI architecture, technical leadership, hands-on development, and strategic planning. You will own the technical direction of AI within the product, from concept to production at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design AI architectures based on LLM / GenAI
- Select models, pipelines, and tooling
- Build end-to-end AI solutions (assistants, recommendations, automations)
- Design and implement RAG, embeddings, vector stores, data pipelines
- Integrate AI with backend systems (microservices, REST, event-driven)
- Mentor engineers, define best practices, perform code reviews
- Monitor model performance, quality, cost, and safety
- Advise product and business stakeholders
- Co-create and execute the AI roadmap
Requirements
- 5–7+ years as a Software Engineer
- 2–3+ years hands-on in AI/ML or LLM-based projects
- Strong Python experience (3+ years commercially)
- Practical experience with OpenAI / Azure / HuggingFace / open-source LLMs
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
- Vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, pgvector)
- System architecture, APIs, integrations, event-driven design
- RAG and data pipeline experience
- Technical leadership and mentoring skills
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Strong communication skills
Nice to Have
- Fine-tuning, LoRA, quantization
- Startup or high-ownership environments
- MLOps knowledge (monitoring, drift, CI/CD for AI)
- Experience building AI-first products
