We are RST Software. For over 25 years, we have been helping companies build digital products, modernize existing systems, and implement new technology solutions. We work with clients from around the world, creating software tailored to real business needs.
We are currently looking for a Technical Product Owner to join a long-term, international product project developed by several technical teams.
This role sits at the intersection of product, technology, and delivery. We are looking for someone with previous software development experience who now takes a broader view of the product — from the perspective of users, business needs, architecture, and the way technical teams work together.
You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and business stakeholders. Your role will be to help shape product direction and priorities while ensuring smooth collaboration across teams, so that business needs are translated into well-planned and technically feasible solutions.
The organization is also strongly moving towards AI, so we are looking for someone who understands both the opportunities and limitations of AI-based solutions and can work with technical teams to assess where AI can create real value.
You will feel at home in this role if:
- you have previous commercial experience as a Software Developer
- you have at least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar product role
- you have a strong understanding of the software development process and can confidently discuss technical solutions with developers
- you understand APIs, integrations, application architecture, and dependencies between systems
- you can translate business needs into requirements that are clear and feasible for technical teams
- you have experience managing and prioritizing a backlog and contributing to product roadmap planning
- you are comfortable coordinating work across several teams and managing dependencies between development, DevOps, and other technical areas
- you can identify risks, blockers, and dependencies and address them early
- you understand the full software development lifecycle — from discovery and analysis through development and testing to release and maintenance
- you are comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders and can clearly communicate priorities and decisions
- you communicate confidently in English at C1 level or higher
And:
- you still think like an engineer, even though your main responsibility today is product
- you do not see the Product Owner role as simply managing a backlog and tickets
- you ask not only what should be built, but also why, how, and what the consequences of a particular solution will be
- you can connect the business and technical perspectives and help both sides find the right solution
- you are comfortable working in an environment where several teams contribute to interconnected parts of the same product
- you can make decisions and set priorities even when not all information is available
- you are independent, proactive, and take ownership of outcomes rather than simply following a process
It would be a plus if you have:
- experience working with DevOps or platform teams
- knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architecture
- experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- experience with products using AI / GenAI
- knowledge of LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or other modern AI applications
- experience with discovery and facilitating workshops with stakeholders
- experience working in an international product environment
Project description:
About the role
As a Technical Product Owner, you will be one of the key links between business and technology.
You will work with several technical teams, helping them understand not only what needs to be delivered, but also the business context, dependencies, and priorities behind it.
In practice, you will be responsible for:
- gathering and analyzing business and product needs
- contributing to the product vision, roadmap, and priorities
- translating business needs into technical solutions and requirements
- managing and prioritizing the backlog
- defining user stories and acceptance criteria
- coordinating dependencies between development teams, DevOps, and other technical areas
- working closely with developers, architects, QA, and DevOps
- assessing the feasibility of new features together with technical teams
- identifying technical risks, dependencies, and constraints
- supporting release planning and determining the right sequence for delivering changes
- ensuring consistency across solutions developed by multiple teams
- communicating decisions, priorities, and changes to stakeholders
- supporting the product from discovery through implementation and further development
AI in this role
AI is becoming an increasingly important part of the product's direction.
We do not expect you to be an AI Engineer, but we do expect you to understand the basic capabilities, limitations, and implications of using AI within a product.
You will work with technical teams to evaluate new ideas, help prioritize initiatives, and assess where AI can genuinely solve a user or business problem — and where it would simply be technology added for the sake of technology.
We are looking for someone who can combine product thinking, a strong technical background, and ownership of delivery.
